Job Overview

The Preschool Educational Director is an essential leader responsible for overseeing the development, organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of Early Childhood and Preschool instructional programs. This role ensures that all scholars achieve or surpass the Department of Education (DOE) Core Curriculum Content Standards. Success in this position demands effective collaboration with staff, fostering a supportive team environment, and maintaining clear communication with families, community stakeholders, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
• Stay informed about current curriculum advancements, evaluation frameworks, pedagogical methodologies, and new directives to optimize learning outcomes.
• Implement Common Core/EFQ performance and quality benchmarks within daily operations for early childhood development (ages 2-5).
• Work alongside educators to create a curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of all scholars.
• Support educators in cultivating a safe, authentic, and engaging learning environment.
• Conduct evaluations of educators based on CLASS and ECERS standards.
• Develop and maintain a scholar-focused program that encourages social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Ensure the facility is safe and conducive to learning for all scholars.
• Facilitate referrals to appropriate agencies for scholars with special needs.
• Champion high attendance rates for both scholars and staff.
• Manage the school’s budget with diligence and transparency.
• Mentor, inspire, and train teachers and staff through effective leadership.
• Provide constructive feedback through regular classroom evaluations.
• Oversee tours, orientations, recruitment efforts, and social media outreach.
• Collaborate closely with educators to uphold high standards for curriculum development.
• Address procedural inquiries and provide clear guidance to staff.
• Participate in the hiring, training, and assessment of teaching personnel.
• Regularly review instructional objectives and educational materials.

Required Skills
• Proficient in computerized data collection systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of early childhood growth and development principles.
• Familiarity with Pre-K/3K curriculum and relevant funding regulations.
• Experience with remote learning technologies such as Zoom and Class Dojo.
• Exceptional teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving proficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
