[Remote-Position] Taiwanese Hakka Transcriber/Translator

Quick Overview:Compensation: a competitive salaryStart Date: Immediate openings availablePosition: Taiwanese Hakka Transcriber/translatorCompany: WorkwarpLocation: Remote  VoxCroft seeks 2-3 Taiwanese Hakka speakers to transcribe several hours of Taiwanese Hakka audio/video data, translate the content into English, and add several metadata labels as tasked by the VoxCroft project manager. The selected linguists may also be required to conduct some research tasks as relevant to Hakka language media and Hakka linguistic conventions. Tasks will need to be completed between mid-December 2024 and late January 2025.

Suitable applicants should possess the following skills and equipment:
• Native-level Taiwanese Hakka (speaking and writing) - prior experience in transcription will be advantageous;
• Fluent in English with high degree of accuracy in translating from Hakka to English;
• Experience in using subtitling software (SubtitleEdit or similar)
• Access to own laptop with a good internet connection and functioning speakers/headphones

• Transcription and translation rate per audio minute
