[Remote] Political Affairs Internship

Note The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Borgen Project is an international organization dedicated to improving living conditions for people affected by war, famine, and poverty. The Political Affairs Internship focuses on advocating for poverty to be a priority in U.S., Canadian, and U.K. foreign policy through public and political outreach. Responsibilities • Leading public and political outreach in your state and district • Meeting with members of Congress/Government in your State/District/Constituency • Representing The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events • Assisting with fundraising. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets • Mobilizing individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation • Speaking to groups, classes and organizations • Writing letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media and other groups Skills • Passionate about making a difference in the world • Interest in political affairs and advocacy • Ability to lead public and political outreach • Willingness to meet with members of Congress/Government • Ability to represent The Borgen Project at various events • Skills in fundraising and creating personal fundraising campaigns • Ability to mobilize individuals to contact their members of Government • Strong communication skills for speaking to groups and writing letters of support Benefits • College credit Company Overview • The Borgen Project is a national campaign that works to address global poverty.
