[Remote] PMO Lead / Senior Project Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Trajectory Recruiting is seeking a seasoned PMO Lead / Senior Project Manager to spearhead the establishment and advancement of a Project Management Office (PMO) function within a high-stakes Investment Technology and Performance environment. This role combines high-level strategic framework design with hands-on tactical project execution, focusing on critical data and technology initiatives across an enterprise-scale Investment Office.
Responsibilities
• Lead the design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of the PMO, including project intake, prioritization, and governance standards
• Monitor and coordinate a complex portfolio of tactical and strategic initiatives, identifying dependencies and risks across multiple workstreams
• Provide direct project management for tactical data and technology projects, utilizing Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies as required
• Facilitate coordination between internal business teams, technology groups, and external vendors to ensure alignment with organizational priorities
• Develop and maintain portfolio-level reporting and executive dashboards to provide leadership with visibility into project health and resource capacity
• Drive organizational readiness and the adoption of new processes, tools, and capabilities through proactive communication and training efforts
Skills
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience within financial services, specifically supporting Investment Management organizations with $100B+ AUM
• At least 12 years of experience managing complex technical or operational projects
• A minimum of 10 years of experience within or leading a PMO organization, with a proven track record of establishing governance frameworks
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field
• Deep expertise in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models
• Proficiency in project and collaboration tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, MS Project, Power BI, or Smartsheet
• Experience supporting multi-vendor implementation and large-scale modernization programs
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, CSM, or Prosci (Change Management)
• Experience within a large public pension fund or similar public sector investment environment
