Remote Pharmacy Technician Job Description We are looking for a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a remote capacity. You will primarily work with Medicare and Medicaid patients, with a focus on Medicare. Your main task will involve managing prior authorizations, from intake to setting up in the system, and eventually sending them to a review technician. You may also receive training on the review process. Responsibilities • Handle the intake of medpharm prior authorizations. • Set up prior authorizations in the system. • Send prior authorizations to a review technician. • Provide customer service over the phone, managing calls, controlling conversations, and redirecting as necessary. • Potentially handle prior authorization reviews after initial training. Essential Skills • Data entry skills. • Pharmacy technician certification. • Experience in managed care and pharmacy. • Customer service skills, particularly over the phone. • Ability to work independently and remotely. • Computer skills. • Experience with prior authorizations. • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in handling appeals and claims. • Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance. • Strong Wi-Fi connection. Work Environment This is a 100% remote position. You must work in a closed-door setting with limited distractions to ensure HIPAA compliance. The role requires a strong Wi-Fi connection and the ability to work independently. The work schedule includes rotating holidays with other team members. Lunch breaks range between 30 minutes to an hour.
