They are seeking a Pharmacy Account Director who will be responsible for end-to-end account management and the growth of Medicaid pharmacy programs, ensuring high-quality and compliant solutions aligned with client goals.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary executive point of contact for state Medicaid clients, including Pharmacy Directors and senior leadershipBuild and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on all aspects of the Medicaid pharmacy benefitLead regular client engagements, including weekly touchpoints and Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBRs/QBRs)Translate client priorities, voice of customer (VOC), and market needs into actionable strategies and solutionsEnsure all contractual obligations, deliverables, and service expectations are met or exceededProvide comprehensive oversight of pharmacy clinical operations, including:Prior authorization and utilization management, Drug Utilization Review (DUR) programs, P&T Committee and formulary (PDL) management and Rebate and cost‑of‑care initiativesMonitor KPIs, SLAs, productivity, and financial performance to ensure operational excellenceLead and guide process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalabilityEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Medicaid, HIPAA) and audit controlsOversee vendor and subcontractor performance to ensure alignment with service expectationsDevelop and execute account strategies aligned with organizational and client goalsIdentify and drive new solution opportunities, innovations, and program enhancementsPartner with product, growth, and executive leadership to shape pharmacy strategy and go‑to‑market initiativesSupport RFP responses, client presentations, and business development effortsLeverage market and competitive insights to inform strategy and expand solution offeringsOwn account‑level financial performance, including cost‑of‑care outcomes and budget alignmentAnalyze performance data and provide actionable insights to improve program effectivenessTrack and report on all operational, clinical, and financial metricsIdentify cost‑savings opportunities and value‑based outcomes for clientsLead, mentor, and develop a team of account managers, clinical leaders, and operations staffDrive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementOversee staffing models, workforce planning, and productivity managementSupport hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional developmentProvide performance feedback, coaching, and evaluationsSkillsBachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a related field; PharmD or advanced degree preferredActive Pharmacist license is required8–10+ years of experience in pharmacy, PBM, or Medicaid managed care5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and/or large‑scale operationsStrong experience in pharmacy benefit administration, including clinical operations and utilization managementProven experience managing client relationships and delivering consultative solutionsDemonstrated success in managing cross‑functional teams and complex initiativesExperience working directly with state Medicaid programsExpertise in P&T Committee, DUR Board, and formulary management processesExperience with financial performance management and cost‑of‑care initiativesFamiliarity with workforce management tools, dashboards, and analyticsBenefitsGenerous, flexible vacation policy401(k) employer matchComprehensive health benefitsEducational assistanceA variety of leadership and technical development academies to help build your skills and capabilitiesCompany OverviewGainwell Technologies is a provider of Information Technology & Services.
