[Remote] Personal Financial Counselor, PFC - All Locations

The Personal Financial Counselor will offer financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families, conduct workshops, and ensure the program meets the needs of the installations.ResponsibilitiesProvides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their familiesAssists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absencesDevelops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and familiesCoordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops, e.g., topics across the military lifecycle, including, but not limited to, arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and personal and career events outlined in DoDI 1322.34Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminarsPossess the skills to effectively utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication, such as web based, secure online chat, or video-based communications and secure video teleconference sponsored by the customer. Virtual PFC support may only be authorized by OSD FINRED Program officeManages duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocolCommunicates with leadership and participates in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations to which the counselor is assignedParticipates in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned/appropriateAll other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree requiredMay consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's degreeMay consider applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree3+ years of financial counseling experienceMust be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent EnglishIf required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and SpanishBe able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigationMust be able to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) processMust have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)BenefitsThis position may be eligible for short-term incentives as well as a comprehensive benefits package.Magellan offers a broad range of health, life, voluntary and other benefits and perks that enhance your physical, mental, emotional and financial wellbeing.Company OverviewMagellan Health is a leader in managing the fastest growing, most complex areas of health.
