[Remote] People Operations Generalist

They are seeking a People Operations Generalist to support core HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee records management, while also improving HR processes and compliance.ResponsibilitiesSupport core HR operations across onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, documentation, and employee recordsHelp deliver a smooth onboarding experience for new hires, including pre-start coordination, first-day logistics, documentation, and follow-upCoordinate offboarding processes, including system updates, equipment coordination, and employee communicationsPartner closely with HRBP(s) to prepare for terminations including creating confidential exit guides and prepping severance packagesConduct exit interviews and document insightsMaintain accurate employee records in Rippling and other People systemsDraft and maintain HR documentation, process guides, templates, and employee communicationsTriage and respond to employee questions and route issues appropriately when escalation is neededManage high-volume, process-driven HR work while maintaining accuracy and confidentialityPartner with the internal payroll team to support employee changes, data accuracy, and payroll-related questionsProvide administrative support for benefits, 401(k), PTO, leave policies, and related employee questionsServe as a point of contact for employees and vendors, including Sparrow for leave administrationSupport benefits documentation, employee communications, and recurring administrative processesOwn intake for leave and accommodation requests, triaging sensitive situations with discretion and escalating or directing cases to the appropriate resources as neededSupport reporting, audits, employee data updates, and recurring HR processesIdentify manual processes that can be improved, documented, or automatedCreate and maintain trackers, checklists, templates, and workflows that help the People team operate more efficientlySupport basic people reporting, including headcount, turnover, onboarding status, offboarding status, and compliance trackingHelp clean up and improve existing processes where documentation or ownership is unclearLeverage AI tools to automate manual processes and build workflows to improve operational efficiencySupport HR compliance administration across federal, state, and local employment requirementsAssist with audits, employee documentation, policy acknowledgments, and compliance trackingSupport I-9 and reverification processes, background check, employment verification, and personnel file processesHelp ensure employee records and HR processes are consistent, accurate, and well-documentedSupport employee engagement, recognition, and culture initiativesProvide responsive, helpful support to employees while maintaining appropriate confidentialityDrive improvements to the employee experience through better processes, clearer documentation, and consistent follow-throughSkills3 to 5+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, HR coordination, or a related roleExperience supporting the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, records, and employee questionsExperience with benefits, payroll coordination, leave administration, compliance tracking, or HR documentationHighly organized and comfortable managing a high volume of administrative HR workStrong attention to detail and strong follow-throughClear, professional written communication skillsComfortable handling sensitive employee information with discretionStrong judgment and ability to know when to escalateProcess-oriented mindset with a desire to improve how work gets doneComfortable working quickly while maintaining accuracyAble to operate in ambiguity and help bring structure to recurring workStrong employee service mindset and willingness to jump in where neededUS citizen/visa onlyExperience working in a startup, high-growth, or fast-changing environmentExperience with Rippling or another HRISExperience supporting immigration processes or working with immigration counselExperience in a multi-state or global company environmentBenefitsMeaningful equityMedical, dental, and vision coverageUnlimited PTOCompany OverviewAthelas develops technology to monitor chronically ill patients in their homes.
