Duke Health is committed to compassionate care and is seeking a Patient Account Analyst to join their Patient Revenue Management Organization. The role involves coordinating financial management, cash reconciliations, and reporting to support the revenue cycle operations of the health system.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and coordinate distribution of cash reconciliations, deposit reports, key performance indicators and other reports and analyses for senior DUHS and PRMO managementMaintain liaison with DUHS and PRMO managers and staff in the preparation of cash reconciliations, deposit reports and analyses to provide information and to resolve problems concerning variances from projected and actual cash receipt dataMonitor budget expenditures and prepare written reports for PRMO management identifying progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusionsContinually monitor financial systems performance and prepare written reports and analyses for PRMO management documenting adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusionsSupervise and coordinate staff in the preparation of cash reconciliations; train and mentor staff to broaden their skills regarding cash reconciliations, policies and proceduresProvide information to various external organizations concerning fiscal operationsPerform other related duties incidental to the work described hereinAbility to handle multiple projectsResearch and resolve cash management issues both internal and externalProvide advanced level reporting, trending/aging and analysis of cash receipts and payment obligations in compliance with DUHSMaintain corporate policies and procedures for unidentified cash receipts, to manage resolution with staff and to support adjustments to revenue/financial statementsResearch and Knowledge of System Capabilities related specifically to payment application related to EPIC, Onbase, and Bank Reporting SystemsSkillsWork requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent relevant experienceExperience – 5+ Years in healthcare accounts receivable, financial management or accounting or a directly related fieldPC – IntermediateExcel – AdvancedWord – IntermediateAccess – IntermediateAbility to work remotely with collaborative team approachAbility to develop consensus in a group with diverging viewsExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management, staff, and the industryHigh-energy candidate with a strong sense of urgency about solving problems, meeting challenging deadlines, and achieving critical goalsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated team skillsExcellent analytical/accounting/statistical reporting skillsSupervisory skillsCPA is desirableSAP General Ledger Systems a plusEPIC Systems a plusTreasury Bank Sites and/or Treasury Workstation a plusCompany OverviewWorld-class academic and health care system It was founded in 1925, and is headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, USA, with a workforce of 10001+ employees.
