Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Professional Book Club (PBC) Guru is dedicated to fostering a love for reading and learning in diverse communities. The Book Club Program and Community Manager will manage virtual book clubs, engage participants, and ensure a meaningful online experience while cultivating client relationships.ResponsibilitiesManage up to 20 online book club community forums globally, including professional development, health and STEM, general lifelong learning, DEI/social justice, and internationally focused reading and discussion communitiesSend regular emails to participants, post discussion questions, recommend books for groups to vote on, and actively participate in book club discussionsReply to member requests and incorporate feedback to improve the book club program continuouslyParticipate in online forum discussion groups to encourage interaction and dialogueModerate discussion groups to check that members are following community guidelinesSupport the team with the onboarding of new book club community groups through all marketing and initial launch phasesResearch potential book options for various types of book club communitiesContinuously improve the book club experience by growing community membership, driving engagement, and promoting meaningful member-to-member interactionsEngage in a technical workflow to maintain organization and structure for all communitiesLivestream Author Talk Host and Moderator: lead 6-12 livestream “fireside chat” Q&A conversations with bestselling authors annuallyDraft, edit and proofread book club discussion content for a diverse array of selected titles as neededManage client relationships to ensure that each book club program is meeting the organization’s objectivesOccasionally assist in onboarding new book club community clients through all marketing and initial launch phasesMeet with client contacts via Google Meet, Zoom, or Conference Calls to discuss program success and areas for improvementMinimize client churn (i.e. maximizing client service renewals)Leverage and improve upon scalable success strategies that drive member loyalty, thereby increasing client renewal and expansionMonitor and analyze metrics on the health of each book club community to identify, ideate, and evaluate growth opportunitiesImplement actionable strategies based on experiment findingsRegularly report program analytics and success metrics to clientsProvide guidance on improving existing features, and act as a client advocate with a focus on improving the client experienceSkillsBachelor's Degree (combination of liberal arts and business preferred)Experience with management of online programming OR equivalent education/experienceMust be an organized, self-starter who is adept at task prioritization, time management, and is comfortable working independently from homeDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with an understanding of different approaches and best practicesExceptional verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated knowledge of business operations through previous work experience or internshipsKeen attention to detailAdaptability and strong problem-solving skillsExcellent active listening skillsAbility to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externallyDemonstrated interest in and experience managing digital online communities (e.g., online discussion forums, social media discussion groups, etc.)Ability to collect and analyze data, spot trends, evaluate, and recommend tools to enhance a thriving community engagement strategyTech-savvy initiative-taker with a demonstrated capacity to work on projects with minimum supervision, understand objectives, and produce top-quality deliverablesCommitment to collective learning, program design, and iterative learningPassion for reading many different kinds of books and connecting with people in discussions about themBenefitsComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceCompletely virtual team, so you can work from anywhere in the US (Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones preferred)Flexible working hoursPaid time off, prorated for part-time hoursProfessional development opportunities, including access to training courses and toolsStipend for home office and technology needsMonthly book stipendSupportive, mission-driven team cultureCompany OverviewPBC Guru specializes in helping high performing businesses to develop their team’s critical thinking and business acumen through the power of books.
