Remote Paralegal (Legal Billing & Litigation Support) Reports to: Litigation Counsel Job Type: Independent Contractor Industry: P&C Insurance Schedule: up to 20 hours per week - could increase as needed Location: Full Remote Flexibility: While work must be performed during standard business hours (Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, PST), you have the flexibility on which days and specific blocks of time you choose to fulfill your 20 hours. The Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented paralegal that can ensure fiscal accuracy and guideline compliance by reviewing legal invoices from outside defense counsel. You will serve as a key gatekeeper for the company’s billing standards, ensuring all charges align with our established protocols. Beyond billing review, you will provide critical litigation support to our team on an as-needed basis. Key Responsibilities Invoice Audit: Review outside counsel invoices for strict compliance with company’s billing guidelines. Litigation Support: Prepare medical chronologies and summaries. Cost Analysis: Review medical bills for reasonableness and necessity. Research: Conduct legal research and other administrative legal tasks as assigned by the Litigation Counsel. Requirements Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of active experience practicing and billing as a paralegal. Skill Set: Prior experience reviewing legal invoices is highly preferred but not mandatory. Attention to Detail: An eye for billing discrepancies and adherence to corporate protocols.
