Steptoe LLP is a law firm seeking a Paralegal (Entry Level) to assist attorneys with complex civil litigation documents and workflow procedures. The role involves reviewing documents, maintaining workflow expectations, and assisting with various administrative tasks. Responsibilities Review documents in a custom built database in order to extract information and input the same into the database Maintain measured workflow expectations May be responsible for preparing travel and check request documents May be responsible for updating various S&J office lists and logs May be responsible for keeping all vendor information up to date May be responsible for coding and sending all A/P invoices to DC office for payment May assist with keeping inventory and orders all office forms (taxi vouchers, messenger and overnight delivery – UPS, Federal Express, and Overnight Express) May assist with coding and sending all A/P invoices to DC office for payment Assists Administrative Attorney with maintenance of all administrative files May Learn MMSEA filing req, executive quarterly filing, and update database Medicare fields as needed Research and resolve issues with invoicing Completes other duties as assigned Skills Facility with computer applications Customer Service Communication skills Four year degree Excellent attention to detail skills Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities of the job Strong initiative Organizational skills Attention to detail Ability to multi-task Team Player Demonstrated strong professional customer service skills Working knowledge (hands-on) of Microsoft Office Applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel) and must remain current on all S&J software where it affects the responsibilities of the position Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and projects and complete them under time constraints Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, staff and vendors, and to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact, while safeguarding confidentiality Benefits Medical Dental Vision Life Disability Dependent care Health care flexible spending accounts 401K Plan Profit-Sharing Paid Time-Off Robust Wellness Program Company Overview In more than 100 years of practice, Steptoe* has earned an international reputation for vigorous representation of clients before governmental agencies, successful advocacy in litigation and arbitration, and creative and practical advice in structuring business transactions.
