Base Salary: $100,000-$135,000 per year (USD) + performance-based bonus Role Summary The Remote Outsourced CFO is a people-focused advisor and operator who acts as a strategic financial partner to a portfolio of growing businesses. You will lead client relationships, manage engagement profitability, and mentor a talented team of Controllers and Analysts to ensure we deliver high-quality, impactful financial guidance. This role requires blending executive-level advisory skills with deep expertise in financial operations and technology. Key Responsibilities • Executive Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs and business owners, translating complex financial data into clear, confident recommendations to help drive strategic decisions. • Team Leadership & Coaching: Act as a mentor and leader for the delivery team, setting clear standards, coaching team members, and ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and impactful service. • Client Relationship Management: Successfully manage the overall client engagement, including overseeing project scope, guiding renewals, and nurturing client growth while ensuring the profitability of the engagement. • Strategic Financial Guidance: Lead advanced financial planning activities, including forecasting, cash flow planning, KPI design, unit economics analysis, and preparing professional executive-level reporting packages. • Operational Excellence: Guide complex client onboardings by reviewing current processes and systems. You will design and implement improved workflows, ensuring smooth and effective integration of key financial technologies. Qualifications/Requirements We are looking for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 7-10+ years of progressive experience in an advisory, consulting, or fractional CFO capacity. Experience & Expertise • Strategic Advisory Background: Proven experience in executive-level client management and advisory presentation, especially in a Client Accounting Services (CAS) or fractional CFO setting. • Financial Expertise: Deep experience with financial modeling, forecasting, unit economics/pricing, and the ability to interpret data for effective decision-making. • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop financial professionals, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Technical & Communication Skills • Executive Communication: Strong executive presence and communication skills (written and verbal) to facilitate discussions, write clear reports, and build immediate, lasting trust with clients. • Technology Proficiency: Deep proficiency in core CAS and accounting technology, including QuickBooks Online (QBO), BILL, Ramp, Gusto, Karbon, and familiarity with reporting/BI tools (e.g., Fathom, Syft).
