[Remote] Organic & Community Growth Specialist

The Organic Growth Specialist will be responsible for managing Skillz's community presence across various platforms, driving organic growth through community engagement, SEO, and outreach efforts.ResponsibilitiesCommunity-Native Communication: Demonstrable history operating as a named, disclosed brand voice on Reddit, Discord, Quora, or comparable community surfaces for a consumer brand (gaming, gambling, fintech, crypto, or DTC). Has lived through subreddit promotional-rule enforcement, AskGamblers / Trustpilot complaint cycles, and Discord moderation at scaleFTC & Platform-Policy Literacy: Fluent in FTC endorsement guidelines (16 CFR Part 255) for affiliate / referral disclosure, Reddit's sitewide and sub-level promotional rules, Quora promotional content policy, and Discord ToS. Treats disclosure as the operating default, not a footnote. Bonus: prior experience with US sweepstakes / social-casino category constraints (AMOE, 21+, state exclusions, Google's Oct 2025 RMG reclassification of sweeps)SEO & Indexing: Working SEO proficiency — technical SEO (crawl, index, schema, Core Web Vitals, sitemaps), on-page (keyword strategy, content structure), and off-page (link building, comparison / review-site placements, HARO / Qwoted, podcast guesting). Comfortable building moderation rotas, recruiting volunteer mods, running drops / codes / community tournaments, and turning the server into a measurable signup channelEarned Media & Outreach: Has booked podcast guest spots, secured niche press placements, run HARO / Qwoted / Help-A-B2B-Writer flows, and / or shepherded a Wikipedia / Wikidata entry through to publication. Understands the difference between paid placements and editorialOrganic Affiliate & Referral Mechanics: Understands UTM-tagged organic referral links, branded short-links, and surface-specific landing pages. Can build the operating playbook for which links go where, with what disclosure, and how performance is attributedAnalytics & Reporting: Sets up clean attribution (UTM frameworks, GA4, server-side tagging basics), builds an organic-funnel dashboard (impression → visit → registration → FTP → redemption), and reports channel-level CAC, FTP %, and retention to leadership weekly.
