Remote Operations - Assisted Living Medical Biller

Summary The Remote Medical Biller will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and following up on claims with insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers. This role ensures proper reimbursement, reduces denials, and supports financial stability through accurate billing and collections processes. Responsibilities • Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding systems including CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10. • Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is included for accurate billing. • Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving any discrepancies with insurance providers. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and billing regulations. • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any issues related to patient care documentation and coding. • Utilize EMR and EHR systems effectively to manage patient records and billing information. • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and payer-specific regulations regarding medical billing practices. Requirements • Proven experience in medical billing or a similar role within a healthcare setting. • Strong understanding of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and general medical coding principles. • Familiarity with medical office operations and terminology is essential. • Experience with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable. • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals. • Knowledge of medical records management practices is a plus.
