[Remote] Occupational Safety and Health Data Analyst

They are seeking a detail-oriented analyst to support national occupational safety and health programs by analyzing and classifying workplace injury and illness data.ResponsibilitiesReview workplace injury, illness, and fatality records and apply standardized case‑classification codes using the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Occupational Injury and Illness Classification System (OIICS)Exercise thoughtful, independent judgment to accurately classify complex or ambiguous cases while maintaining speed and consistencyDraft brief, clear incident narratives that summarize the circumstances of each case in plain, concise languageManage multiple work queues and deadlines while maintaining high quality and attention to detailCollaborate regularly with team members and senior analysts for guidance, quality checks, and knowledge sharingContribute to documentation, process improvements, and evolving analytical practices over timeSkillsA bachelor's degree in communications, health/environmental science, statistics, or related fieldStrong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to apply rules consistentlyExcellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and conciselyOutstanding time-management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment to accomplish assignments in a timely mannerExperience or strong interest in data analysis, public health, occupational safety, epidemiology, or related fieldsProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint)Willingness and ability to learn new software and technical skills as requiredTranscripts are only required for new/recent graduatesExperience with structured classification or coding systems (e.g., OIICS, ICD, or similar)Experience or coursework in data analysis or data managementFamiliarity with SAS, R, Power BI, Qlik, or other analytical toolsPrior exposure to occupational health, injury or illness surveillance, or public health researchBenefitsHealth and dental insuranceLife insuranceLong-term disabilityEducational benefitsFSAsA generous 401k planProfit sharingAn EAP11-20 paid vacation days per year10 paid holidays per year56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time)Company OverviewERG is a consulting and environmental services and consulting firm.
