[Remote] Network Installation Specialist - Journeyman

They are seeking a Network Installation Specialist who will perform the installation of networking equipment, particularly focusing on optical hardware, and will also troubleshoot and resolve related issues.ResponsibilitiesInstall, route, and secure fiber optic cabling, racks, ironwork (ladder rack, subfloor infrastructure), patch panels, and cable management hardware (i.e. Panduit raceway, Fiber Management Systems (FMS)) in accordance with TIA/EIA and DoW standardsPerform fusion splicing, connector termination, and cable preparation for singlemode, multimode fiber systems, and copper cablingDC Power cable (determining path, wax cord lacing), HTAP, and equipmentConduct, document, and analyze results from OTDR, power meter, and continuity tests to diagnose and repair fiber issuesAdhere to security level access, material handling, and protocolsInterpret SOWs, site drawings, and infrastructure diagrams to maintain accurate records of network routesSkillsOne year to three years of experience involving the construction, maintenance, or repair of various types of networking or electronics equipment or an equivalent combination of education from a related technical discipline for the required experienceProficiency in Telcordia standards, fiber optic splicing, and testing equipmentBasic knowledge of communications installationsSome experience with various network devices (e.g. IP routers, optical/IP switches) and ability to install network devices per DoW and Industry Implementation StandardsCommunications skills including verbal, written, and graphic and experience with customer service environmentsProficiency with MS Office applications/Google documents/sheets/slides for reportingActive Secret Clearance or higherMust be able to travel 90% of the time on deployments for both CONUS and potentially OCONUS locationsAbility to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs)Previous experience with Outside Plant (OSP) fiber and fiber cabinets is highly desirableExperience with specific equipment manufacturers (e.g., Corning)Familiarity with network security productsFamiliar with Amy installationsCompany OverviewBY LIGHT Professional IT Services is a provider of IT, cloud, cyber and infrastructure solutions to the US Federal Government.
