[Remote] Network Detail Engineer (Optical/ Metro)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Insight Global is looking to hire multiple Detail Network Engineers focused in the optical space for metro access. The role involves providing detailed network solutions and designing, engineering, and deploying optical transport solutions to augment metro access components of the global network.ResponsibilitiesCollaborating with planning, provisioning, standards, and sales teams as well as equipment vendors on network and customer solutionsPartnering with field operations and other implementation organizations to obtain information such as space, power, and fiber availability required to complete project engineeringCreating install specifications (ISPECS) and applicable diagrams and drawings required for installation, turn-up, inventory, and configuration of Metro transport equipment deployed into the networkDeveloping project Bill of Material (BOM) and placing orders for network equipment, rack, and hardware requirementsDefining cable requirements, creating cable running lists, and ordering all cablesEnsuring all engineering documentation is accurate and up to dateEnsuring work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standardsResponsible for managing deployment of projects to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectivesIdentify, monitor, report and escalate project-related issues to achieve timely resolutionDevelop and implement corrective action plans to mitigate impact to project schedules and overall business objectivesUtilize project tracking tools and systems to accurately document milestones completions, project issues, corrective action plans, project jeopardies and overall project completionsSkills8+ years experience in detail network/ telecom/ equipment engineeringExperience with optical equipment- Fujitsu, Cisco, CienaWell versed with transport engineering, DWDM, SONET, ROADMExperience building iSPecs, network augmentations, and technical documentationsPrior experience working for or supporting VerizonKnowledge or familiarity with FIM, ICON, TCOMS, COFEE, CCP, nSAPPrior Verizon contractors/ employees preferredULH experienceBenefitsRemote, ideal locations DFW or West CoastLong term opportunitiesPrior Verizon contractors/ employees preferredCompany OverviewInsight Global provides top talent and staffing solutions that help job seekers find careers in healthcare, finance, IT, and government.
