[Remote] Naval Architect

Gibbs & Cox, a subsidiary of Leidos, is the largest independent naval architecture and marine engineering firm in the U.S. They are seeking a Naval Architect to tackle ship design and integration engineering challenges, applying naval architecture principles across all phases of design. The role involves leading multi-discipline teams and executing naval architecture analyses to support military and commercial clients.ResponsibilitiesHydrostatics (weight estimates, intact/ damage stability assessments)Hydrodynamics (hull design, resistance predictions, seakeeping assessments)Arrangements (general arrangements, compartment outfitting, aviation integration, topside integration)Overall ship design integrationRequirement’s developmentExecuting naval architecture analysesWorking with multi discipline teams to lead overall ship development and design integrationLeading and successfully executing trade studies and requirements developmentPreparing and presenting technical reports and engineering documentationProactively interfacing with customers and other stakeholders to discuss design progressSkillsU.S. Citizenship and ability to acquire Secret Security Clearance.
