The role involves leading a product development team in research and development, managing the product lifecycle, and ensuring alignment with customer needs and technology roadmaps.ResponsibilitiesManage team to research, develop, and maintain products through the LifecyleResponsible for performance goals following the organization's strategy, reviewing, and providing feedback to team members periodicallyOverseeing the entire process of new product development and providing support if neededCoach and develop team members to build a good performance teamDrive the continuous development and enhancement of systems and procedures to streamline the design and development processCreate, maintain, and realize a technology roadmap and align with the cross-functional teamWork closely with the customer/sales/PM in getting the right and clear VOC (voice of customer)Follow LEANPD Project Process to support the project team from the PDE perspective to complete the Project (NPI or Sustaining) on time, with quality, and within budgetDrive the development and release of products, scale-up through stage-gate reviews, ensuring milestone commitments are maintainedDevelop and manage product documentation, including product requirements, design documents, and test plans/reportsWork with global manufacturing resources, procurement, and outside suppliers to meet all TE technical, quality, and cost objectivesWork closely with suppliers to identify and qualify new components and technologiesConduct thorough design verification and validation testing to ensure the product meets the required specificationsCollaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure a smooth transition to productionMentor and guide junior engineers and technicians to develop their skills and knowledgeConduct competitive analysis and market research to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiationBuild a deep understanding of market and customer needs by fostering a connection between the business engineering teams and the customer engineering teamsMaintain a system-level understanding of customer applications and the product design/concept necessary for providing a solution to the customers’ expectationsTechnical support to customers, sales, PM, and the plant team. Conduct necessary tests, engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and verificationIntroduce breakthrough technologies by partnering technically with our customers worldwide and with our TE Global competency centers to enhance business revenue & growthApply engineering best practices to reduce cost and sustain existing products to meet customers’ cost targetsSkillsTypically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
