HR Service Jobs is hiring a dedicated and detail-oriented Remote Medical Billing Assistant to support Nigerian hospitals and healthcare providers in streamlining their billing and claims processes. You will work closely with medical offices to ensure accurate and timely submission of insurance claims and billing records.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies for services rendered by Nigerian hospitals.

Review patient records and documentation to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with coding standards.

Resolve insurance discrepancies, denials, and claim rejections by coordinating with providers and insurance companies.

Maintain and update patient billing records, payment history, and insurance information.

Follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims and take appropriate corrective actions.

Generate billing reports and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive patient data.

Respond to queries from hospitals or insurance companies regarding billing issues.

Ensure billing operations are in compliance with local healthcare regulations.
• Required Skills and Qualifications

Good knowledge of medical billing procedures, medical codes (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance processes.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in billing software, spreadsheets, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and handle pressure in a remote setting.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Discretion and a strong understanding of patient confidentiality laws.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing, preferably within the Nigerian healthcare system.

Prior experience with remote or virtual billing roles is an advantage.

Flexible working hours with a core window of availability (e.g., 10 AM – 4 PM WAT).
