[Remote] Media Relations Manager

As the Media Relations Manager, you will be responsible for securing prestige and attention for the organization's work by building relationships with journalists and crafting media pitches.ResponsibilitiesCrafting and delivering compelling earned media pitches tied to case launches, legal rulings, and other newsworthy developmentsBooking PLF attorneys and other spokespeople for interviews and media appearancesMonitoring the news cycle to identify opportunities to inject PLF’s work into current eventsBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with editorial contacts at key media outlets—including reporters, producers, and bookersSkills3+ years of experience in earned media (e.g., pitching, booking, journalism, PR)Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to distill complex ideas into concise, persuasive pitchesA sharp eye for news and the instincts to act quickly when opportunities ariseThe ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly, and meet deadlines on timeA team-oriented, can-do attitude, and the willingness to pitch in however neededBackground in broadcast journalism is a plusFamiliarity or experience with Agile/Scrum methodology is a plusExperience using project management software in a team setting (we use Asana) is a plusBenefitsMedical and dental insuranceEmployer-paid retirement savingsGenerous paid leaveFlextime policiesFlexible, collaborative, positive, and collegial work cultureInvesting in your future and encourage internal advancementCompany OverviewPacific Legal Foundation fights for Americans in court against unjust laws and regulations.
