[Remote] Mechanical Field Service Engineer, Apprentice
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Mechanical Field Service Engineer, Apprentice to join their team. This hands-on role supports the Field Service team by assisting with the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of corrugating and/or box-making machinery while gaining practical experience under the guidance of experienced engineers.ResponsibilitiesAssist Field Service Engineers in responding to customer support requestsObserve and practice diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in corrugating and box-making machinesSupport disassembly, inspection, and repair processes under supervisionTrain alongside experienced technicians to interpret prints, specifications, manuals, and work ordersParticipate in the setup and installation of new equipment, including coordination with riggers and millwrightsLearn to install electrical and hydraulic connections, perform leveling and alignment checks, and verify machine operationShadow technicians during operator training sessions to understand machine functionality and maintenance procedures; assist with supervised training activitiesAssist in documenting service activities, including photos and detailed descriptions of work performedReport equipment issues, material needs, or safety concerns to supervising technicians or managementEngage in structured learning activities, including technical training modules and performance evaluationsSupport operations as needed to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality standardsArrange travel for assigned customer site visits, including flight, lodging, and rental car reservations, in accordance with company policy.
