[Remote] Mechanical Field Engineer

The Mechanical Field Engineer will provide project field engineering expertise in work planning, material management, safety, and quality control for liquefied natural gas plants and other projects.ResponsibilitiesPrepares construction drawings and sketchesLeads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of 'as built' drawings and other job plansInitiates requisitions for field purchasesPrepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipmentVerifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as requiredEnsures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safelyProactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activitiesDevelops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package developmentReviews and approves inspection test plansCoordinates reviews of subcontractor submittalsSkillsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experienceExperience in overseeing the installation and inspection of rotating and static equipmentExperience in LNG process systemsFamiliarity with ASME and API standardsWork includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spacesSome lifting may be requiredMust have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress)Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)Experience in commissioning of rotating and/or static equipment is preferredExperience with BookBuilder and UPV is preferredExperience in managing TEAMWorks data and reporting quantities in TEAMWorksBenefitsRobust benefits to ensure our people thriveAdvancing careersDelivering programs to enhance our cultureProviding time to rechargeCompany OverviewBechtel is a construction company that offers engineering, construction, and project management solutions to its customers.
