They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Power Systems to support the design and development of high-power electronic products used in hydrogen electrolysis systems.ResponsibilitiesSupport the design and analysis of mechanical aspects of high-power electronic products supporting hydrogen electrolysis systemsPartner with lead mechanical designers on the layout and integration of power systems, thermal management solutions, and structural designs from prototype through production releaseCreate and release detailed drawings and documentation for parts and assemblies to support manufacturing and productionPerform detailed mechanical design of power bussing and bus interfaces for high-current DC output systemsCollaborate with systems optimization and modeling teams to evaluate power system performance and plant cost tradeoffsParticipate in design reviews and contribute to internal and external technical documentation related to power system mechanical designSupport manufacturing, testing, and field deployment activities as neededContribute to design for manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability across product development effortsSkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or a PhD with 2+ years of relevant experienceExperience designing mechanical systems for high-power electrical equipment or power distribution systemsStrong understanding of thermal management, structural analysis, and mechanical integration principlesProficiency with 3D CAD software and detailed drawing creationExperience supporting products from prototype through production releaseStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environmentExperience with power bussing, bus bars, and high-current electrical interfacesExperience in hydrogen, renewable energy, battery, power conversion, or industrial automation industriesFamiliarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulation toolsExperience working closely with manufacturing and supply chain teamsKnowledge of applicable industry standards for power systems and industrial equipmentBenefitsAn equity grantTime off programsA $75/month cell phone allowanceA 4% employer 401(k) matchAccess to competitive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term & long-term disability plansA discretionary bonusElectric Hydrogen’s benefits programs are subject to eligibility requirements.Company OverviewElectric Hydrogen develops electrolyzer technologies to enable abundant, low-cost, and clean hydrogen to replace fossil fuels.
