They are hiring an Engineering Manager for Activations to lead a team focused on onboarding new clients through technical workflows and integrations, combining technical and people leadership responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesLead the Activations engineering team responsible for the technical work that helps new clients go live, including integrations with client core provider APIs, third-party services such as check ordering and ACH transfers, and workflows tied to digital account openingAlign team priorities, processes, and decision-making with broader organizational goals while setting clear direction for the team’s roadmap and delivery outcomesCoach, develop, and support engineers through regular feedback, performance conversations, and day-to-day technical guidanceDesign, guide, and review systems within the team’s scope while contributing production-grade code where needed to move ambiguous problems forwardReview code and technical designs to ensure high standards for quality, maintainability, testability, efficiency, and long-term scalabilityPartner closely with Product Management to translate complex product requirements into practical technical plans, sequencing, and delivery decisionsMonitor quality, reliability, and platform health so the team makes the right technical investments to support current and future needsHelp create an environment where engineers can think through problems with a product lens, operate autonomously, and make strong decisions in fast-moving situationsSkills8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong hands-on technical foundation2+ years of experience in a technology leadership role with a track record of building and leading strong teamsStrong experience with modern software engineering across areas such as TypeScript, Node.js, Python, API development, event-driven systems, and relational databases such as PostgresStrong system design and architecture skills, with the ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly and guide teams through ambiguous problemsExperience building backend services and APIs, with a solid understanding of REST APIs and microservice-style architecturesA leadership style centered on raising the bar through code reviews, technical coaching, and thoughtful collaborationStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn product asks into clear technical plans and align stakeholders around executionComfort operating in an evolving environment where priorities can shift and the best leaders stay calm, adaptable, and execution-focusedBenefitsRemote-first environmentUnlimited paid time off401(k) with employer matchCompany OverviewAlkami Technology provides cloud-based digital banking solutions for credit unions and banks.
