[Remote] Manager, Quality Engineering (Development)

The Quality Engineering Manager will lead a team to enhance the quality engineering practices, focusing on test automation and collaboration with development teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.ResponsibilitiesWork with the Team Lead to mentor a team of QE engineers, fostering a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvementHelp define and execute the QE roadmap, including test automation strategy, tooling, and coverage standards across the platformPartner with development teams to embed QE practices into sprint ceremonies — planning, grooming, and retrospectivesOwn end-to-end (E2E) and UAT test reliability, driving down flakiness and improving signal quality in CI/CD pipelinesCollaborate with SRE and DevOps to build and maintain CI/CD integrations for automated testing, including auth token management and environment stabilityEstablish metrics and reporting to surface quality trends early, enabling faster detection and resolution of regressionsWork cross-functionally with Product, Delivery, and Engineering leadership to align on release readiness standardsManage QE capacity, hiring, and performance, ensuring the team is appropriately staffed and growing professionallyChampion a shift-left approach to quality, ensuring requirements and acceptance criteria are testable before development beginsSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or 5 years of equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience building and delivering Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering platforms with 5+ years of software engineering or related leadership experienceStrong engineering background with hands-on experienceExperience building and managing technical teams in a player-coach model, able to set strategy and roll up your sleeves when the team needs it5+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with at least 2 years in a management or lead roleStrong background in test automation frameworks and E2E testing strategies for web applicationsHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar) and integrating automated tests into build processesSolid understanding of modern web technologies — JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, or similar frameworksExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments with short sprint cyclesProven ability to build, grow, and retain high-performing QE teamsOutstanding communication skills and comfortable in a whiteboard session with engineersNaturally cross-functional, able to work fluidly with product, data, SRE, security, and sales without losing momentumMS degree or MBA preferredFamiliarity with the AI developer tooling landscape, the ability to evaluate and adopt AI-assisted testing tools to improve team throughput and test coverageExperience in fintech, banking technology, or platforms serving financial institutions is a plus, but not requiredCuriosity about the CFI spaceBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceA 401(k) with company matchFlexible PTO plus 12 paid holidaysPaid sick leavePaid parental and family leaveA lifestyle spending accountTuition reimbursementA cell phone stipendCompany OverviewLumin Digital provides cloud-native digital banking solutions, helping financial institutions enhance user experience and engagement.
