NMDP is an organization seeking a Manager of Product Development responsible for managing products, conducting market research, and bringing new products to market. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, build, and launch products that align with the organization's vision and strategy.ResponsibilitiesLeverages his or her industry expertise to inform and shape the overall product strategyServes as a product evangelist throughout the organization and with external stakeholders in order to create buy-in, as well as build awareness and credibilityCollaborates on the product strategy and product roadmap that reflects the priorities of the organization, as well as our customers, while also delivering on our strategic objectivesConducts market research and meets with customers to solicit feedback on current products and understand unmet needsAssesses the competitive environment and determine our competitive position compared to others in the marketOwns the creative process of generating, developing and curating new product ideas to drive growthTranslates the product strategy into detailed requirements and specificationsClearly articulates the value proposition to the internal development team so they understand the demand for and interest in a new product or product releaseOwns product definition, specifically the identification of key product functionality that best meets the needs of the internal and external stakeholdersDrives product development and continuously re-prioritizes features and functionality as new information is obtained during the product development cycleLeverages industry expertise to drive product pricing and positioning strategies to drive growth in lives and revenueWorks with Marketing to develop marketing and promotional strategies appropriate for each product and in consideration of the target audienceIncreases market share through the development and delivery of market-driven products, as well as working with Sales/Business Development on product sales strategiesAssists the Sales/Business Development team in the development of pitch decks, product overviews, and other sales support materials for the products in your portfolioDevelops and leads a high-performing, cross-functional team focused on the delivery of our objectives and initiativesActively monitors product, customer and operational metrics and course corrects as neededDesigns and monitors metrics for biobank usage and performanceOversees the delivery of products & services that meet or exceed provider expectations and meet SLAsOwns the P&L and ensures financial and operational metrics are met or exceededCollaborates cross-functionally to deliver servicesAttend conferences and builds relationships with industry influencers and key customersAttends multi-department meetings, and communicates regularly to internal and external stakeholder groups in multiple forumsActs as a leader supporting the strategic goals and initiatives of NMDPParticipates in strategic planning for the organization and review progress toward achieving strategic goals on a monthly basisBuilds professional networks in this and related industries for the purposes of best practice sharing and performance benchmarkingOther duties as assignedSkillsKnowledge of product management methodologies, business case development, pricing strategiesDemonstrate proven track record of growing product portfolios or businessesDemonstrate proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycleDevelop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to leadership teamDemonstrate strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job doneManage multiple priorities and adeptly handle risk and uncertaintyInfluence without authorityExhibit high proficiency with applications used in the business unitDemonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal and collaborative skillsBachelor's degree required.
