They are seeking an Engineering Manager for the Connections team to lead engineers in developing user-facing product areas, shape strategy, and foster a high-performing team environment.ResponsibilitiesLead and grow a cross-functional engineering team working across user-facing product areas and the systems that support themSet clear goals and drive execution against a roadmap aligned with broader product and business prioritiesPartner with Product, Design, Research, and Data Science to shape strategy, prioritize opportunities, and deliver measurable outcomesCreate a strong team environment with clear expectations, healthy operating rhythms, high standards, and psychological safetyCoach and develop engineers across levels, helping them grow in scope, impact, and career progressionSupport technical and architectural decision-making to ensure the team builds reliable, scalable, and maintainable systemsUse data, experimentation, and user insight to guide product and engineering decisionsUse AI to accelerate analysis, research, drafting, synthesis, and iteration, while applying strong judgment and verification to ensure quality and correctnessSkills8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing teams of 5+ engineersExperience leading engineering teams that build and ship consumer-facing productsExperience managing engineers across multiple levels and helping teams improve in effectiveness, quality, and impactStrong people leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, performance management, and team developmentStrong product sense and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate broad goals into clear priorities and execution plansSolid technical foundation and the ability to engage in architecture, design reviews, and technical trade-offsProven ability to lead through ambiguity, align cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver meaningful resultsExpertise in using data and experimentation to inform product and engineering decisionsDemonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day work for relevant outputsStrong track record of critically evaluating and verifying AI-assisted work through testing, review, or other quality controlsHigh integrity and ownership in using AI: you protect sensitive information, avoid over-reliance on AI, and remain accountable for final decisions and deliverablesStrong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with Product, Design, Research, Data Science, and other engineering teamsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceBenefitsThe position is also eligible for equity.Information regarding the culture at Pinterest and benefits available for this position can be found here.Company OverviewPinterest is a visual bookmarking tool for saving and discovering creative ideas.
