Save the Children US is dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world, including the U.S. They are seeking a Human Resources Manager to ensure compliance with Head Start standards and policies across multiple states, while also overseeing recruitment, training, and employee relations.ResponsibilitiesWork with other departments to prepare first day orientation for new hires and assist with onboarding new hiresPartner with Program Director and Sr. Talent Acquisition and Attraction Specialist to implement cost-effective strategies for recruitment and employmentAttend regularly scheduled team meetings, prepare and maintain staffing reportsCollaborate with Program Director and supervisors to provide adequate staffing supportEnter new hire and employee transfer data into HR information systems and audit for accuracy and compliancePartner with Program Director to implement guidelines and approaches to ensure adherence to standards set by Save the Children & the Office of Head StartCollaborate with program staff on the monitoring & reporting of violationsConduct interviews with staff, and other involved (adult) parties when investigating allegations of child safeguarding policy violationsWrite reports, make recommendations, document findings, and track outcomes (i.e. remedial training, policy updates, disciplinary actions, etc.)Liaise with parents, the Office of Licensing, and National staff as necessaryExercise independent judgment and discretion on significant HR mattersProvide orientation and trainings to include pre-service training on a continuous basisCoach and counsel supervisors and employees on the implementation and management of HR policies and proceduresMonitor and maintain all personnel data and conduct HR file auditsAssist with performance management, ensuring all employees and managers complete annual performance reviewsPlan and direct activities, write and administer goals & objectives, and communicate effectively; both verbally and in writingActively support and take appropriate measures to ensure a safe workplace for allHandle complex and difficult issues and provide resolutions/recommendations to solve problemsAnalyze data, draw conclusions and provide recommendations based on dataMaintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirementsRespond to human resources-related inquiries from employeesMonitor employee morale and program cultureProcess/Report complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actionsMust exercise the highest level of confidentiality and integrityWork with Program Director to respond to community complaints and requests for information regarding program areas of responsibilityAttend Policy Council meetings, as requestedSkillsHigh school diploma, plus at least 3 years of relevant, progressive HR experienceWillingness and ability to regularly travel via car to multiple site locationsProfessional proficiency in MS Office suiteKnowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS), human resources information systems (HRIS) and/or performance management systemsDemonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels, both internal and external must be detail-oriented, possess a high degree of accuracy and work well under pressureHuman Resources experience in a Head Start programProven experience administering HR support for all phases of the employee life-cycleAssociates or higher degreeThis position requires the incumbent to operate a motor vehicle to fulfill certain essential functions of the job.
