The Manager of Data Engineering is responsible for leading a team in the development, maintenance, and support of business applications, ensuring optimal performance and integration with stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesDevelops and maintains consistent communication with the business process owners to determine requirements and ensure that software and maintenance activities meet needs and resolve system issuesHire, manage, coach, develop and engage staff to ensure optimal performance and retention. Regularly conduct 1:1 and team meetings to ensure communication and management of issuesProvides feasibility studies, analysis, and recommendations regarding packaged software and hardware to increase the effectiveness of TriWest operationsOversees the development of short- and long-range objectives and tactical plans to satisfy system needsPlans, builds, recommends, monitors and controls assigned part of IT budgetEnsures cost-effective engineering, integration, implementation, testing, and maintenance of Medical applications in support of business and information objectives and requirementsDevelops and maintains ongoing relationships with hardware, software, consultant, and employee resource vendors to insure that TriWest systems are adequately supported and external opportunities are understood and considered in the planning processEnsure appropriate security requirements are an integral part of the design, development, and ongoing support of all application solutionsMaximizes existing hardware and software capabilities to support changing business requirementsManages implementation and upgrade projects for all purchased systemsManages growth and promotes usage and understanding of software capabilities and processesEstablishes and reinforces agile methodologies and industry standards best practicesDevelops and maintains ongoing relationships with vendors to insure proper systems support and planningNegotiates contracts and agreementsParticipates in application-related steering committees and user groupsPerforms other duties as assignedRegular and reliable attendance is requiredAs needed, assist with application developmentSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experienceU.S. CitizenMust be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation5 years IT or Data management experience to include hiring, managing, coaching and developing staff to ensure business goals are met5 years' experience in planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of application systems across multiple hardware and software platforms3+ years' experience in business application design5+ years in Master Data Management3+ years' experience in Healthcare, specializing in Provider DataExperience working in high volume data throughput environment with 24x7 processingExperience with Profisee Master Data Management SoftwareExperience with Cloud based systems, preferably AzureKnowledge of ETL/Analytical systems such as Databricks, Azure Data FactoryKnowledge of SQLServer and SQLBenefitsMedical, Dental and Vision CoveragePaid time off401(k) Retirement Savings Plan (with matching)Short-term and long-term disability, basic life, and accidental death and dismemberment insuranceTuition reimbursementPaid volunteer timeFrequent pay raisesOvertime opportunities to earn even moreRecognition and reward programsCompany OverviewTriWest Healthcare Alliance - Serving Those Who Serve.
