[Remote] Loss Mitigation Liaison I-3

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. M&T Bank is seeking a Loss Mitigation Liaison I-3 to act as the Single Point of Contact throughout the loss mitigation process. The role involves managing communication with mortgage loan borrowers, assisting them with loss mitigation options, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.ResponsibilitiesTake inbound and make outbound calls to assigned portfolio of mortgage loan borrowers that are delinquent in their loan payments and who are investigating loss mitigation options or are in foreclosure, while maintaining compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations applicable to consumer collection activityAnswer consumer questions concerning their accounts and document the contact on the mortgage servicing systemUnderstand investor’s waterfall and required documents for loss mitigationCollect consumer financial information and assist borrowers in reviewing loss mitigation documentsCommunicate and explain the terms of loss mitigation approvals or declines, the rational for each and ability to appeal or re-applyCommunicate liquidation options and explain the foreclosure process as necessaryAdhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policiesMaintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicablePromote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brandComplete other related duties as assignedSkillsA combined 4 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 year collections or customer service experienceAbility to communicate effectively and professionally over the phoneExcellent communication and customer service skillsProficiency with word processing and spreadsheet softwareBachelor's degreeMortgage collections experienceKnowledge of M&T systemsCompany OverviewGreat companies have an enduring sense of purpose.
