Remote Litigation Associate
Thriving law firm specializing in complex litigation is seeking an entry-level attorney to join a dynamic healthcare litigation team in Los Angeles, California. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex disputes involving major healthcare providers, hospitals, and physician organizations, focusing on contract interpretation and arbitration. Responsibilities: • Handle managed care litigation cases, representing healthcare plan providers in disputes involving hospitals, physicians, and other providers. • Conduct in-depth factual analysis of claims to identify patterns and determine case strategies. • Draft and argue motions, such as those related to statutes of limitations or immunity. • Take and defend depositions, including working with expert witnesses. • Assist in preparing for arbitration hearings, with opportunities to second chair proceedings. • Collaborate with partners and other team members to ensure effective case management. • Analyze issues related to coverage, coordination of benefits, fee schedules, and contract interpretations. • Manage cases that range from individual high-value claims to large-scale disputes involving multiple claims. • Participate in arbitration processes more frequently than trials, given contractual clauses. • Support the litigation team in maintaining active caseloads and delivering high-quality legal services. Qualifications: • California Licensed attorney in good standing with at least 1 years of civil litigation experience. • Strong knowledge of drafting motions, briefing, and discovery processes. • Experience with depositions, particularly involving expert witnesses. • Familiarity with arbitration and trial preparation. • Proven ability to handle complex contract disputes and interpret healthcare-related agreements. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Effective communication and teamwork abilities. • Commitment to delivering high-quality legal representation in a fast-paced environment.
