[Remote] Legal Technology & AI Attorney - Transactional

The Legal Technology & Artificial Intelligence Attorney will support the firm’s Legal Technology and AI initiatives by collaborating with transactional practice groups to design and optimize technology-enabled workflows, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in legal processes.ResponsibilitiesPartner with transactional practice groups to identify opportunities to improve deal workflows through the use of AI and legal technologyDesign and implement technology-enabled workflows related to contract drafting, due diligence review, transaction management, and deal documentationEvaluate and pilot emerging legal technology and artificial intelligence solutions relevant to transactional practice, including tools for contract analysis, drafting support, document comparison, and generative AI-assisted draftingDevelop, test, and refine prompts and prompt frameworks for generative AI systems to support transactional workflows such as contract analysis, summarization, drafting, and issue spottingConfigure and test AI-powered platforms and transactional technology tools to ensure they meet the needs of attorneys and support high-quality legal workCollaborate with transactional teams to develop standardized approaches for AI-assisted drafting, contract review, due diligence analysis, and transaction preparationWork with IT, Information Security, and Knowledge Management teams to ensure that transactional technology tools integrate effectively with the firm’s systems and comply with firm policiesAssist in the development of governance frameworks and best practices for responsible AI use in transactional matters, including prompt management and quality control proceduresProvide training and guidance to transactional attorneys and professional staff on the effective use of legal technology and AI toolsDevelop internal documentation, playbooks, and best practices related to transactional technology workflows, AI-assisted contract drafting, and prompt engineering techniquesMonitor developments in legal technology and generative AI to identify opportunities to improve transactional efficiency and deal executionSupport cross-practice innovation initiatives involving transactional technology, contract analytics, and AI-enabled drafting workflowsParticipate in vendor evaluations, product demonstrations, and pilot programs for new transactional technology platformsSkillsJ.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction3–5 years of experience practicing in a transactional practice group such as mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, finance, securities, project finance, restructuring, investment funds, real estate, or other comparable corporate or transactional practice areasExperience with transactional workflows, including contract drafting, deal documentation, due diligence review, and transaction managementDemonstrated interest in legal technology, innovation, or artificial intelligence applications in transactional practiceFamiliarity with generative AI tools and prompt engineering concepts, including developing prompts to support drafting, contract analysis, and summarization tasksFamiliarity with document management systems, contract drafting tools, and transactional workflow platformsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate transactional processes into technology-enabled solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, technologists, and business professionalsAbility to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detailExperience managing projects or technology implementations in a legal or professional services environmentExperience evaluating or implementing generative AI tools for contract drafting, document analysis, and summarizationExperience developing prompt libraries, structured prompting workflows, or AI-enabled templates for transactional legal tasksFamiliarity with contract analytics tools and AI-assisted drafting platformsExperience developing internal training programs or adoption strategies for new technologiesBasic familiarity with technology integrations, APIs, or workflow automation tools used in legal environmentsInterest in emerging developments in artificial intelligence, legal technology, and technology-enabled transactional practiceBenefitsHealth careRetirement benefitsPaid days off, including sick time, and vacation timeParental leaveBasic life insuranceFlexible Spending AccountsDiscretionary, performance-based bonusesCompany OverviewGibson Dunn is a leading global law firm, advising clients on significant transactions and disputes.
