[Remote] Legal Intern

The intern will assist attorneys with research, drafting legal documents, and compliance-related projects while gaining practical in-house legal experience within the insurance and financial services industry.ResponsibilitiesConduct legal research and prepare memoranda on issues related to insurance law, corporate law, and financial services regulationAssist attorneys with the review, drafting, and organization of contracts, non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and other legal documentsSupport state insurance regulatory research and tracking of legislative and regulatory developmentsReview and summarize statutes, regulations, regulatory guidance, and case law affecting the life insurance and annuity industryAssist with compliance-related projects and internal policy reviewsAttend legal department meetings and collaborate with business stakeholders across the organizationPerform other legal and administrative tasks as assignedSkillsCompletion of first year (1L) at an accredited law schoolStrong academic performanceExcellent legal research, writing, and analytical skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational abilitiesAbility to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretionProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsInterest in insurance, financial services, corporate law, securities, compliance, or regulatory lawFamiliarity with legal research platforms such as LexisNexisCompany OverviewProsperity Life is an insurance agency that provides a wide range of life, health, property, and casualty insurance products and services.
