[Remote] Legal Counsel

LeafLink is the largest unified B2B cannabis platform, providing licensed cannabis businesses a suite of tools to manage their business more effectively. They are seeking a Corporate Legal Counsel to provide legal advice regarding compliance, corporate governance, and contract management while supporting the company's growth and innovation.ResponsibilitiesServe as a strategic legal partner on commercial, regulatory, and operational mattersServe as conduit to outside counsel to field relevant mattersWork with outside regulatory counsel to help navigate evolving regulatory frameworks and support the company’s compliance obligationsDraft, review, negotiate and interpret commercial agreements including enterprise customer contracts, banking and fintech services agreements, technology partnerships, and data licensing agreementsPartner closely with Sales and Go-to-Market teams to support deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance and support strategic initiatives including partnerships, corporate development opportunities and new product launchesProvide practical legal guidance across a range of areas including commercial transactions, regulatory matters, product development, privacy, employment, and corporate governanceBuild and maintain our commercial legal infrastructure, including contract templates, playbooks, process improvements and legal workflowsSupport board and investor governance matters, including preparation of board materials and minutesIdentify and escalate legal risks appropriately while supporting business growthStay current on legal developments affecting AI technologiesSkillsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state barAt least 3-5 years of legal experience, a combination of top-tier law firm and in-house experience preferred with exposure to commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, or technology transactionsStrong interpersonal skills, with the desire and ability to develop productive and collaborative working relationships with multiple stakeholders across LeafLinkStrong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreementsImpeccable written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with legal and non-legal audiences at all levels of the organizationExperience advising companies operating in regulated industries, fintech, payments, SaaS, or technology businesses is preferredExcellent at understanding complex topics as well as finding streamlined solutions to complex issues that address appropriate levels of riskNew York or California Bar membershipExperience advising companies operating in regulated industries, fintech, payments, SaaS, or technology businessesBenefitsFlexible PTO - you’re going to be working hard so enjoy time off with no cap!A robust stock option plan to give our employees a direct stake in LeafLink’s success5 Days of Volunteer Time Off (VTO) - giving back is important to us and we want our employees to prioritize cultivating a better communityCompetitive compensation and 401k matchComprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision)Commuter Benefits through our Flexible Spending AccountCompany OverviewLeafLink is a wholesale management platform that connects cannabis brands and retailers.
