They are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal advice, ensure compliance, and support business objectives in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesConsult business on the legal issues and implications of potential business decisions, initiatives and payment strategies, providing legal advice strategies and solutions for general business and legal issuesMaintaining current knowledge on laws and regulations around payment services and digital innovation such as cryptocurrencies, blockchain, NFT and decentralized finance (DeFi), including (for the US: state money transmitter laws, BSA/AML, Reg E, card network rules); and (for the EU: PSD2, EMI/PI licensing, AMLD/AML-CFT, MiCA), and other applicable national regimesIdentify, summarize, and analyze the impact of new and proposed applicable rules and regulations to business decisions and current strategiesDrafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other documentation for new business ideasWorking closely with business and technology teams to understand and achieve key business objectives and help them develop compelling product and service offeringsManage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesProvide other legal services and advice to the company as neededSkillsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active membership in good standing with the applicable BarMinimum 5 years legal experienceComfortable working with modern collaboration tools including Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence), Slack, Figma, and similar platforms; able to adapt quickly to new tools as neededKnowledge of general corporate law (CA - for US candidates), financial services law and regulation (incl. money transmitter licensing and BSA/AML regulations)Excellent legal research, oral and written communication skillAble to work independently as well as collaboratively, spot issues, prioritize, and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environmentInterest in decentralized finance (DeFi), cryptocurrency and blockchain technology with an eagerness to learn more about the industryExperience in the crypto industry and (or) gaming industryBeing familiar with payment systems and how they functionBenefits100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision plansUnlimited Flexible Time OffA personalized career roadmap for each employeeInvesting in professional development through training and educational opportunitiesCompany OverviewXsolla is a global video game commerce company that gives developers the infrastructure to launch, monetize, and grow their games.
