The Legal Assistant will provide legal support in areas such as bankruptcy, foreclosure, and residential real estate, assisting attorneys with drafting documents and managing case files.ResponsibilitiesAssisting attorneys in the representation of clients in judicial foreclosure proceedings including, but not limited to, the following duties:Process the complaint work load of the assigned states according to Aldridge Pite procedures, internal goals and client/insurer/investor requirementsDraft legal documents including pleadings, briefs, motions and agreementsElectronically file pleadings within strict deadlines and manage/organize high volume incoming electronically filed pleadingsPrepare correspondenceProof legal forms and documents for accuracyOrganize and track case filesProvide timely responses/updates to clientsCommunicate with courts, title vendors and other third partiesMonitor and handle complaint related tasks for the judicial foreclosure caseload assignedEnsure that billing is completed in a timely manner at all billable events and milestonesHandle other projects or tasks assignedSkillsHigh School Diploma, Bachelor's degree preferredAt least 2 years' experience working as a Legal Assistant or ParalegalThorough knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques and legal terminologyIn depth knowledge of government regulationsRelevant computer knowledge and experienceExcellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skillsExcellent planning and organizing skills, attention to detail and accuracyExcellent research, analytical, critical thinking skillsMust possess excellent ability to communicate with all clients, vendors, internal departments (via client systems, email, and phone)Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customersStrong written and verbal communication skills are requiredProficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office productsOverall positive attitude and willingness to adapt to changeMust possess good organizational skillsIdentifies and resolves problems in a timely mannerMust be a team player and willing to help others in Judicial foreclosure Department whenever necessaryMust be effective in conflict, stress, and performance managementConscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management and attendanceTakes initiative in face of obstacles and identifies what needs to be done and takes actionDemonstrates commitment to Firm's vision, mission, and core valuesProcesses work in compliance with Client requirements as well as SOPs and Operations MatricesAnalytical and detail oriented, while working at a fast pace and capable of multi-taskingExcellent problem solving and organizational skillsDevelops professional relationships and builds rapport with othersOverall good work ethic and willingness to adapt to changeJudicial foreclosure experience highly preferredParalegal certificate a plus but not required.
