[Remote] Lead Software Engineer

The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise software applications while providing technical leadership and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure high-quality solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign, code, test, and analyze software programs and applications in accordance with defined specifications and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Participate in design and technical review meetings to drive solution quality and delivery progressReview and provide feedback on designs created by Software Architects and other Software EngineersPerform code reviews for Software Engineers I and II and support technical skill developmentEstimate work effort and delivery timelines for assigned components and projectsAssist in the analysis and design of new software solutions in partnership with Architects and Business AnalystsDevelop and support integration points and testing mechanisms to enable quality assuranceAssist QA teams with performance and load testing and remediate identified defectsSupport application deployments across environments and assist with deployment documentationTroubleshoot reported issues, document defects, and perform root cause analysisCollaborate with Support Engineers, Network Engineers, and other teams to resolve production issuesProvide regular status updates and report obstacles, risks, and resolutions to managementSkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent5+ years of relevant software engineering experienceDemonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining software applicationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex technical issuesAbility to travel as requiredBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related fieldGraduate degree (Master's, JD, or PhD)10+ years of relevant software engineering experienceMicrosoft certifications, including MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer)Experience reviewing code and mentoring other engineersExperience working cross functionally with architects, analysts, QA, and infrastructure teamsExperience supporting deployments and production environmentsBenefitsGroup health plan benefits401(K)Profit-sharing contributionsFlexible time offParental leaveBonuses (for Illinois market)Medical, dental, vision, tax-savings plans (for Washington market)Holidays (for Washington market)Company OverviewForvis Mazars, LLP is an independent member of Forvis Mazars Global, a leading global professional services network.
