[Remote] Lead GCP Engineer/Lead Architect

The GCP Lead Engineer is a senior role responsible for architecting scalable and secure solutions on Google Cloud Platform while mentoring teams and driving modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Design and implement enterprise-grade solutions on Google Cloud Platform
ā¢ Architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native and hybrid applications
ā¢ Lead migration and modernization initiatives, including re-platforming and transformation efforts
ā¢ Define and maintain cloud architecture standards and best practices
ā¢ Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Harness, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
ā¢ Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent
ā¢ Automate provisioning, deployments, and operational workflows
ā¢ Promote observability and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
ā¢ Ensure cloud solutions meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
ā¢ Implement IAM, network security, encryption, and key management best practices
ā¢ Partner with security and compliance teams to enforce governance and cost controls
ā¢ Act as technical lead for cross-functional cloud initiatives
ā¢ Conduct architecture reviews and guide engineering best practices
ā¢ Mentor engineers across application, infrastructure, and platform teams
ā¢ Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable cloud solutions
ā¢ Implement and optimize GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage
ā¢ Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency across environments
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
ā¢ 8+ years of software, cloud, or infrastructure engineering experience
ā¢ 4+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
ā¢ Proven experience designing cloud-native and hybrid architectures
ā¢ Strong expertise in GCP core services and networking
ā¢ Strong expertise in Kubernetes (GKE) and containerization
ā¢ Strong expertise in CI/CD and DevOps practices
ā¢ Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
ā¢ Strong expertise in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages
ā¢ Experience in Agile/DevOps environments
ā¢ GCP Professional certifications (Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Data Engineer)
ā¢ Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services, insurance, healthcare)
ā¢ Strong background in security and compliance frameworks
ā¢ Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments
ā¢ Knowledge of SRE and observability practices
