As the Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of design packages and collaborating with teams to analyze client data, identify inefficiencies, and implement actionable improvement plans.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Data Analytics team to analyze client data (order profiles, slotting, velocity, SKU affinity, ABC) and identify opportunities to improve flow, labor efficiency, and space utilizationTranslates data insights into practical, site-level actions by spending time in operations, observing workflows, and validating how the operation actually runs versus how it was designedConducts onsite operational assessments to identify inefficiencies in layout, flow, labor utilization, and equipment usage, and develops clear, actionable improvement plansDesigns end-to-end facility layouts, storage media, and material flow with a focus on scalability, flexibility, and the ability to continuously improve performance post go-livePrepares engineering calculations and documents that define both the initial solution and future optimization opportunities across storage, capacity, zoning, and workflowsSupports business development by contributing to RFP responses, including identifying productivity improvement opportunities and long-term value creation for clientsEvaluates and compares manual and automated solutions, building ROI and payback models that incorporate both implementation benefits and sustained performance improvementLeads detailed engineering for new business from concept through implementation, ensuring designs enable ongoing optimization and continuous improvementPartners directly with operations leadership to identify, prioritize, and execute continuous improvement work focused on productivity, throughput, and cost reductionUses data, observation, and root cause analysis to diagnose performance gaps and implement corrective actions across labor, process flow, slotting, and equipment utilizationFacilitates joint planning sessions with clients and operations teams to align on performance gaps, improvement roadmaps, and evolving business needsBuilds and tracks KPIs (productivity, throughput, utilization, cost) and regularly reviews performance with operations teams to drive accountability and actionSupports WMS and system configuration to ensure solutions are flexible and can adapt to ongoing process changes and improvement initiativesManages material handling and automation vendors through installation and commissioning, ensuring systems meet performance expectations and improvement targetsProvides post-go-live support focused on stabilization, performance tuning, and identifying additional improvement opportunities across the operationActs as a hands-on change agent in the field, helping translate engineering solutions into executable processes with frontline teamsMentors and develops junior engineers, reinforcing a mindset of ownership, field engagement, and continuous improvementSkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience4 years of engineering experience in supply chain management, logistics, warehousing or a related fieldExperience with Microsoft Office8-10 years of experience as an Industrial EngineerExtensive AutoCAD experienceAbility to travel up to 50%Time study measurement, such as MOST, a plusThird-Party Logistics (3PL) experience warehousing, distribution center or fulfillment experienceAnalyticalProject and resource management experienceBenefitsCompetitive compensation and a generous benefits package, including full health insurance (medical, dental and vision), 401(k), life insurance, disability and moreCompany OverviewGame-changing opportunities for our customers, employees and investors.
