The role involves hands-on work in the codebase, addressing security challenges in a multi-cloud environment, and influencing product development from a security perspective.ResponsibilitiesOwn our application security posture end-to-endShape what security looks like as we scale from 70 to 140+ engineersSpend most of your time in the codebase, not in meetingsSolve hard problems at the intersection of security and distributed systemsOwn your roadmapSkills6+ years of experience as a security engineer with deep knowledge of distributed systemsBeen an early security hire (first 3) at a SaaS product or data infrastructure companyMust have gone from Backend software engineer -> Security engineerCS, Math, or Physics degreeExperience securing systems across multi-cloud and/or multi-region infrastructureSecuring multi-tenant platforms: tenant isolation, authorization models, etcPrivacy-adjacent security (PII handling, data residency, GDPR/CCPA technical controls)Being an early security hire (first 1-3) at a SaaS or data infrastructure companySecuring multi-tenant platforms: tenant isolation, authorization models, etcCloud security on systems that span more than one cloud and operate against customer-owned accountsDesign and build of data infrastructure as an early engineer, not just a user.
