[Remote] Key Account Manager

Phillips Pet Food & Supplies is seeking a high-impact Key Account Manager with a strong background in the pet food and pet supply industry to drive growth within their national retail channel. This role involves developing strategic sales plans, strengthening vendor partnerships, and delivering profitable growth across key customer accounts.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute national business plans to achieve revenue and profitability targetsIdentify new market opportunities and build expansion strategies within and beyond existing channelsProvide leadership with actionable insights on customer trends, competitive activity, and growth opportunitiesPartner cross-functionally to align on strategic initiatives and business prioritiesOwn and manage relationships with Key Account customers across the U.SDevelop tailored sales programs, promotions, and growth strategies with vendor partnersDrive revenue and margin performance through pricing, assortment optimization, and promotional effectivenessLead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) highlighting performance, insights, and growth opportunitiesEnsure strong customer engagement through proactive communication and service excellencePartner with Operations to streamline ordering, invoicing, and fulfillment processesProvide accurate sales forecasts, including new product launches and promotionsIdentify and remove operational barriers impacting customer successWork closely with Vendor Management and Marketing teams to execute programs and campaignsRepresent customer voice in category planning, product launches, and promotional strategiesCommunicate key insights, risks, and opportunities to leadershipRepresent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetingsPromote company values, policies, and high ethical standards in all interactionsSkillsBachelor's degree from an accredited university10+ years of experience in a consumer products or related industry3+ years in Key Account Management (retail environment required)Pet industry experience (pet food/pet supplies highly desirable)Strong negotiation and contract management experienceProven success managing large, complex retail accountsDeep knowledge of retail KPIs, DSD models, and sales analyticsStrong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilitiesExceptional communication and presentation skillsAbility to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teamsResults-driven with strong organizational and execution skillsBenefitsCompetitive compensation and benefits packageCompany OverviewPhillips Pet Food & Supplies is a premier pet food and pet supply distributor, servicing pet specialty markets all across the country.
