The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing strategic relationships with retail partners, driving revenue growth, and ensuring operational excellence across the retail business.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships both externally with retail partners and internally across Axalta’s cross-functional teamsEstablish multi-level relationships across customer organizations (commercial, operational, and leadership)Partner closely with internal teams, including Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, Product, and FinanceServe as the central point of coordination for all account-related activityLead regular alignment meetings to ensure clear communication of priorities, risks, and opportunitiesLead assortment planning, line reviews, and assortment optimization to expand category presenceIdentify and execute incremental opportunities, including new item placement and distribution gainsDrive off-shelf opportunities (end caps, displays, seasonal programs, tests, etc.)Ensure strong execution of planogram resets and merchandising standardsDevelop and execute promotional plans aligned with retailer strategies and financial targetsSupport both new business growth and retention of existing businessDevelop and execute joint business plans that align with customer and company objectivesCoordinate cross-functional execution of product launches, promotions, and key initiativesEnsure readiness across supply chain, inventory, and pricing to support retail executionContribute to the customer’s broader category strategy and long-term growth plansMonitor sales, inventory, service levels, and promotional performanceIdentify risks and opportunities and translate them into actionable plansDrive improvements in in-stock performance, operational efficiency, and profitabilityEnsure alignment to financial targets and effective use of trade investmentConduct sales analysis and provide input into demand forecasting to support inventory planning, promotional execution, and overall business performanceSkillsBachelor's Degree and/or 5+ years of relevant experience requiredStrong understanding of retail fundamentals, including merchandising, promotions, and inventory managementSolid business and financial acumenEffective leader and communicatorResults-driven with strong ownership mindsetCollaborative and team-orientedStrong organizational and execution skillsAbility to influence and negotiate across multiple stakeholdersProfessional, adaptable, and self-motivatedExperience managing or selling into retail accounts strongly preferredCompany OverviewAxalta provides performance coatings for a wide range of industrial applications; light vehicle and commercial vehicle coatings for original equipment manufacturers; and refinish surface preparation and coating systems for body shops globally.
