They are seeking a Transmission Planning and Interconnection Study Engineer to perform power system analysis, conduct studies, prepare technical reports, and manage client relationships while contributing to business development activities.ResponsibilitiesPerforming power system analysis and network modeling to meet client specifications in reliability, regulation, and quality requirementsConducting studies in areas such as generator connections, voltage stability, arc-flash energy, insulation coordination, and power station designPreparing detailed technical reports and contributing to technical work productsCollaborating with a global team to execute studies and deliver high-quality solutionsManaging client relationships and expectations, ensuring on-time and within-budget deliveryContributing to business development activities and identifying new client opportunitiesWill perform power system analysis for transmission system, including power flow, voltage stability, transient stability and short circuit analysesSkillsBachelor's degree in electrical engineeringSome experience with PSS/E, PSLF, TARA, or similar software for power system studiesKnowledge in electric power system, synchronous generator, motor, power electronic inverters, wind turbines and solarExperience with transmission studies on power flow, voltage stability, and other power system analysesProficient with the PSS®E software package, including all modules for load-flow, short-circuit and transient stability analysisBackground in static and dynamic modelling of power systems components in PSS/E or DSA tools, including HVDC, VSC, Static Var Compensators, STATCOM and Thyristor Controlled Series CapacitorsKnowledge of reliability and interconnection of the transmission systemDemonstrated excellent oral and written communication skillsMaster's degree in Power Systems EngineeringSome experience in stability study using PSS/E, congestion analysis/cost modeling studies or cluster feasibility studies across various ISOs (MISO, CAISO, PJM, SPP or other ISOs)Experience with alternative planning software applications, including TARA, PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA ToolsPSS/E model development and IPLAN and/or Python programming is an assetEager to learn ISO cluster interconnection process and transmission stability analysisKnowledge of substation layout and protection and controlBenefitsExcellent insurance options, including medical, dental, and vision plans; company-paid life insurance; company-paid long- and short-term disability insurance; medical and dependent-care flexible spending plans, and paid parental leave.A flexible time off (FTO) policy that provides paid time away from work, approved by your manager, while ensuring business needs, workload commitments, and appropriate coverage are maintained.A 401(k)/RRSP plan with a 3% employer match.Company OverviewE Source provides independent research, advisory, and information services to utilities, major energy users, and other key players in the It was founded in 1986, and is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, USA, with a workforce of 201-500 employees.
