[Remote] Junior Backend Engineer

They are seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to support the development and maintenance of scalable backend services and data-driven applications, working closely with senior engineers to optimize RESTful APIs and backend components.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Python
ā¢ Contribute to microservices architecture, testing, debugging, and performance optimization
ā¢ Troubleshoot backend and API issues in development and production environments
ā¢ Build and support data processing workflows using Databricks notebooks (SQL / Python)
ā¢ Write, optimize, and maintain complex PostgreSQL queries and data models
ā¢ Diagnose and resolve data-related issues to ensure accuracy and performance
ā¢ Work within Azure or AWS cloud environments and follow CI/CD best practices
ā¢ Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with senior engineers on design and delivery
ā¢ Communicate effectively to support cross-functional problem solving and production support
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or related field
ā¢ 1 ā 3 years of backend development experience
ā¢ 1 ā 3 years of hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot, RESTful microservices) and Python for backend and data-processing use cases
ā¢ 1 ā 3 years of experience working with Databricks notebooks for data analysis or processing
ā¢ Strong PostgreSQL / SQL skills
ā¢ Familiarity with Angular or other modern UI frameworks
ā¢ Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud environments
ā¢ Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
ā¢ Strong problem-solving and communication skills
