Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Software Engineer IV to apply principles of computer science and mathematical analysis in software design, development, testing, and evaluation. The role involves collaborating with hardware engineers, analyzing user needs, ensuring software standards, and developing and modifying software systems.ResponsibilitiesConducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial softwareDetermines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systemsEnsures software standards are met. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraintsConfers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfacesDesigns, develops and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of designCoordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are metModify existing databases and database management systemsWrite and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptionsWork as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitationsReview project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish projectReview and approve the modification of existing databases and database management systemsInstruct staff to write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management systemDirect database development and approve project scope and limitationsReview project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish projectPlan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosureApprove, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systemsDevelop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable informationSkillsFully adjudicated DoD Secret clearanceBachelor's degree and 8-10 years of relevant experienceWorking knowledge of AWS ecosystem & implement cloud-native software solutions on AWSKnowledge and experience working with Relational & NoSQL Databases. (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Dynamodb)Must be proactive and able to perform in a fast-paced Agile environment providing timely deliverablesStrong Problem-solving skills, Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to effectively communicate technical informationExperience in manipulating XML payloads to conform pre-defined XSD schemasExperience with REACT (familiar with Module Federation and or MFE (Micro Front Ends), and component library experience is a bonusExperience with Spring Boot and or Node.js API, & API Integration gateways (Java, and or JS)Experience with Backend Data Integration (SQL such as Postgres, and Data Connection Elements)Experience taking direction from an ArchitectExperience (not a SME, just some understanding) with Gitlab, CI/CD Pipelines and preferably DoD DEVSECOPsExperience with AGILE, and SCRUMAt least some Experience with Docker, or Fargate, or EKS, and NGINX is a mustExperience AWS GovCloud and SRG approved Native ServicesRequires Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 30 daysOptional skills is SonarQube, Postman and or Swagger, and code vulnerability scanningBenefitsW2 optionCompany OverviewIn today’s dynamic and competitive market, success hinges on mastering three key areas: Data Intelligence, Business Resilience, and Digital Experience.
