This senior position involves advanced technical work in a multi-site enterprise computing environment, focusing on system architecture, planning, design, and implementation within an ITIL framework.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, configure, administer, monitor, and troubleshooting in conformance with established practices for an auditable enterprise-level IT environment for such activities as change management, preventative maintenance, and access control in one or more of the following areas:Infrastructure & Operations: A complex enterprise-level hybrid cloud and on premise physical and virtual server environment consisting of data centers, hardware, storage, operating systems, back-office/middleware applicationsNetwork: A complex enterprise-level network infrastructure environment consisting of VoIP, LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, and cloud networking systems utilizing switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN technologies for remote access and site-to-site connectivity. Supports secure and reliable communication across on-premises, cloud, and remote enterprise locationsDatabase Administration: A complex enterprise-level database environment at the physical and logical level, security, and performance, using Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and In-Memory Database (IMD) management systemsEnterprise Systems/Applications/Development: A complex mission-critical enterprise-level multi-tier hybrid environment of servers, databases, applications, integration, APIS, web platforms, reports, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. Development encompasses design, code, test, deploy, and maintain secure applications, scripts, reports, APIs, and integrations using approved tools, source control, change management, and SDLC practicesClient Infrastructure: A complex enterprise-level physical and virtual client environment consisting of endpoint devices, operating systems, cloud-based device management, endpoint security, identity integration, software deployment, lifecycle management, and front-office applicationsSecurity: Maintain enforcement of policies, procedures, technologies, and associated plans for IT security along with performance and oversight of penetration testing of all systems in order to identify system vulnerabilitiesGeneral: Perform procedures, simulation, and actual events for disaster recovery to ensure effective protection and integrity of system and data assets, including operating systems, databases, network connections and protocols, servers\client device, security and software applications. Modify plans based on results of tests or incidentsProvide business hours, after hours on-call, and after hours/weekend technical support for escalated client-side and server-side hardware, software, security, and network issues in a timely and customer-friendly mannerSupport other IT teams throughout project, system, and application lifecycles within and ITIL framework for service delivery and continuous improvementMaintain technical documentation and training materials for educating end users and new IT staffParticipate in various IT work activities such as feasibility studies, capacity planning, performance analysis and fine-tuning, new technology evaluation, new systems and applications technical requirements specifications and reviewPerform other related duties as assignedSkillsGraduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, information systems, or systems engineeringAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if it meets the requirements of the departmentAZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-700, AZ-802, DP-300, DP-203/700, SAP, OpenText, MS-102, MS-300, MS-500 CompTIA Cloud+, Server+, Security+, Network+, Linux+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP Routing and Switching or equivalents may be substituted for up to two (2) years of education; 1 year per certificationInformation Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification is required within six months of assignment dateSix (6) years computer science or other information technology experience – including three (3) years as an IT Infrastructure, Network, Database, Enterprise System, Security, Application, or Client AdministratorValid Florida Class E Driver's License requiredAbility, experience and willingness to observe all safe work practices to ensure the safety of systems, hardware, self and othersAbility, experience and willingness to work without direct supervision and make sound decisions to creatively and effectively solve problems of systems and hardware, as well as to maintain effective interpersonal relations that ensure a team atmosphere willingness to effectively plan and organize work to ensure the highest quality performance of self and othersKnowledge of principles, practices, and methodologies of networks, client and server computer hardware, operating system functions, system management and administration, database administration techniques, security, storage management, data center management, network administration, disaster/recovery techniques, middleware and application configuration, problem solving and programmingCompany OverviewGainesville Regional Utilities deals with multi-service disruptions like electricity, water and gas for retail and wholesale customers.
