[Remote] Interim Healthcare In-House Counsel
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Latitude Legal is seeking an experienced Interim Healthcare Counsel Attorney for a mission-driven healthcare organization. This role involves supporting the legal and compliance team during a critical transition, addressing various legal matters such as healthcare compliance, enterprise risk management, and internal investigations.ResponsibilitiesServe as a key member of the legal and compliance team during a critical time of transitionProvide support across various areas, such as enterprise risk management, healthcare compliance, research and contracting matters, employment and benefits issues, and internal investigationsSupport legal matters outside of oneโs primary area of expertisePartner with compliance, operational, human resources, risk management, research, or executive leadership teamsIdentify legal and operational risks and provide practical, business-oriented adviceDraft, review, negotiate, or advise on contracts, policies, investigations, compliance initiatives, or regulatory mattersSkills6+ years of experience practicing as an attorney within the legal department of a hospital, health system, academic medical center, healthcare provider, or similarly regulated healthcare organizationSignificant experience in at least one of the following areas: Enterprise Risk Management, Healthcare Compliance, Research and Research Compliance, Research and Clinical Trial Contracting, Employment and Benefits Counseling, Internal InvestigationsDemonstrated ability and willingness to support legal matters outside of one's primary area of expertiseExperience partnering with compliance, operational, human resources, risk management, research, or executive leadership teamsAbility to identify legal and operational risks and provide practical, business-oriented adviceExperience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, or advising on contracts, policies, investigations, compliance initiatives, or regulatory mattersHealthcare regulatory experience strongly preferredStrong academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law schoolExcellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsLicensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionOutstanding professional referencesCandidates with significant experience in multiple of the following areas will be particularly attractive: Enterprise Risk Management programs and governance initiatives, Research administration, clinical research, grants, sponsored research, or research compliance, Healthcare regulatory compliance and investigations, Employment counseling, employee relations, labor and employment compliance, and employee benefits matters, Internal investigations involving compliance, workplace, regulatory, or operational concerns, Healthcare contracts and transactional support, Academic medical center or health system legal department experienceBenefitsLatitude contract professionals are usually W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week.Benefits-eligible Latitude contract professionals receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D.A qualified 401k plan is also available.Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.Company OverviewLatitude is a legal services company that provides employing, in-house counseling, and law attorneys.
