[Remote] Interim Chief Financial Officer

Highspring is engaged with a trusted Private Equity client to find an Interim Chief Financial Officer Advisor for their Financial Services carveout business. The role involves leading the financial carveout, establishing independent finance operations, and driving performance management in alignment with the private equity sponsor’s investment thesis. Responsibilities • Lead all financial aspects of the carveout, ensuring seamless transition from the parent organization to an independent entity. • Stand up core finance capabilities — accounting, FP&A, treasury, and reporting — including system selection, process design, and staffing. • Oversee the management and wind-down of Transitional Service Agreements (TSAs) to achieve full financial independence within defined timelines. • Partner with the PE sponsor and CFO to execute the 100-day plan and deliver key financial milestones. • Develop and implement operational KPIs and performance dashboards aligned with value creation priorities. • Identify and drive EBITDA improvement opportunities through cost optimization, pricing, and margin expansion initiatives. • Establish best-in-class financial discipline, controls, and reporting cadence consistent with private equity standards. • Deliver timely, accurate monthly closes and board-ready financial packages. • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process; manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity optimization. • Oversee external audit, tax, and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to financial regulations applicable to the financial services industry. Skills • 15+ years of progressive finance leadership, including prior experience as CFO, divisional CFO, or senior finance executive. • Proven success leading carveouts, integrations, or stand-ups within financial services (e.g., banking, fintech, insurance, payments, or asset management). • Demonstrated experience in private equity–backed environments, with a clear understanding of value creation levers, leverage dynamics, and investor reporting. • Strong command of U.S. GAAP, financial modeling, and performance analytics. • Hands-on, execution-driven leader with the ability to operate effectively in an evolving, resource-constrained environment. • Exceptional communication and board-level presentation skills.
